“Galapagos: Rocking the Cradle” by photographer Thomas P. Peschak for National Geographic is one of the nominated stories in nature category. This is how our islands are seen by the lens of the German.

The title of the photographer’s visual history refers to rocking the cradle where Darwin’s theory of evolution was born. From April 13 to August 22, 2016, four major ocean currents converge along the Galapagos archipelago, creating the conditions for an extraordinary diversity of animal life. Here is a part of the series.
