Many have followed Fulacolite team’s journey to the finish line: in the video of their arrival they marked 7 hours, 39 minutes, 50 and some seconds.
In the 2 kilometers swimming test, Gaby went in a kayak, the 90k of biking she did it with a special bike that they brought from Germany, and the 21 km of jogging with a road chair pushed by Roberto.
The campaign to “acolitar” (support) resulted in the sponsorship of Salud S.A. as the main among many who helped with training, preparation and equipment.
All this effort means that everything is possible, it means that you “do what you really want to do” (to paraphrase Gaby in one of her interviews). In her medical story, a cerebral palsy is diagnosed, a condition that has challenged her to achieve what she has wanted but that has not stopped her from trying and achieving it.
In her great network of support, among her family and friends she has had her brother Roberto who shares her passion for sports, adventure and art. She is a painter, he is a photographer. Both have crossed several goals and have added the IronMan to their list, an achievement they want to use to encourage inclusion of people with disabilities and to demonstrate that everything is possible.
