The World Travel Awards were held on December 10 in Phu Quoc, Vietnam. Ecuador triumphed in several categories, one of them was the best green destination in the world, its 5th consecutive prize in this category.

To achieve this victory, Ecuador competed with several countries which have demonstrated their potential such as Belize, Costa Rica, Fiji Islands, Madagascar, the Maldives, Norway, Peru and the Seychelles. Since 2013, Ecuador has won this award with the 4 kingdoms that represent a small and mega-diverse country.

GALAPAGOS ISLANDS

The Enchanted Islands were awarded for the second consecutive time as Best Beach Destination.

In addition, the Finch Bay hotel in Galapagos, located on Santa Cruz Island, took the 1st place in the category of the Best Green Hotel in the World, taking its fourth consecutive prize.

Once more, Ecuador receives recognition, this time competing against the whole world. We remember that it was 2 months ago when the country placed in the top of South America by taking 14 of 26 awards at the World Travel Awards (South America). Now, we must aim to repeat these victories and conquer new categories in which we know we have potential to win.
